Intro to Knitting – Jilanna Eagles

January 29, 2025 @ 6:00 pm - March 19, 2025 @ 9:00 pm

$293.25 – $366.85

SEVEN SESSIONS COURSE, Every Wednesday from 6 PM – 9 PM

Dates: January 29, February 5, 12, 19, 26. March 12, 19 – 2025

Ready to take the first steps in knitting or grow beyond the basics? This course is designed to help you confidently knit your first projects, whether you’re a complete beginner or ready to move beyond your first dishcloth or scarf. Through fun, approachable projects, you’ll practice essential knitting skills: casting on, binding off, knitting and purling, and simple increases and decreases. We’ll explore easy patterns to apply these techniques, and cover helpful topics like gauge and how to troubleshoot common issues. Along the way, you’ll learn how to “tink” (un-knit), “frog” (rip out stitches), and pick up dropped stitches—with plenty of support to keep you progressing comfortably and confidently.

Join our supportive and welcoming community of fellow knitters and learn how to create something new. Projects will include dishcloths (with pattern options to learn new concepts), a cozy hat or hand warmers, and when you’re ready we’ll help you start a small shawl or pattern of your own choosing.

Over the years, Jilanna has taught beginner knitters in supportive, flexible sessions in a range of settings. She has taught sock-knitting using her own course materials and loves to encourage people to keep learning new things. She co-founded a local knitting group in 2010 and has guided others in monthly meetings and retreats, and has helped build a warm, supportive community of knitters and crocheters.
