SUMMARY:Introduction to Herbal Energetics -Linda Thompson-Brown
DESCRIPTION:HALF-DAY WORKSHOP – October 3\, 2026 | 1 – 4 pm\nThis introduction to Herbal Energetics will open your eyes to the methods and practices our ancestors relied on for thousands of years\, yet so many of us have forgotten! \nWe’ll observe\, smell\, feel\, and taste a range of herbs throughout this course so you can discover\, develop\, and refine your herbal skills. \nYou’ll also learn the essentials of herbal safety\, so you don’t have to worry about putting a foot wrong. The class is broken down into taste modules. In each taste module\, we’ll also explore the anatomy and physiology of key bodily systems. These won’t be detailed biological breakdowns but the essential fascinating facts that a budding herbalist needs to know so you can adapt your preparations as you observe recognizable symptoms. \nTICKET PRICING & MATERIAL COST:\nRegular ticket price: $65 + taxes (HST) \n NBCCD staff\, faculty\, and current students receive 20% off regular ticket sales while supplies last. In addition to her public speaking experience\, she teaches workshops at the Herbalist Association of New Brunswick’s annual Summer Fair and offers small-group classes in Harvey and McAdam. \nLinda has completed the Herbal Immersion Program at Chestnut School of Herbal Medicine\, as well as the Practical Herbalist Foundation Course and the Master Herbalist Course through Wild Rose College of Herbal Medicine. DESCRIPTION:HALF-DAY  WORKSHOP – October 10\, 2026 | 9 am – 12 pm\nDiscover the creative possibilities of needle felting in this beginner-friendly workshop! Participants will be introduced to the essential tools and materials used in needle felting\, including different types of felting needles\, wool\, and complementary textiles. \nThrough guided\, hands-on instruction\, you’ll learn the fundamental techniques for sculpting and shaping wool into three-dimensional creations. As you build your skills\, you’ll gain the confidence to transform simple fibres into unique works of art\, decorative wall pieces\, and sculptural forms. \nBy the end of the workshop\, you’ll leave with a solid foundation in needle felting and your own handmade felted pumpkins to take home. \nTICKET PRICING & MATERIAL COST: \nRegular ticket price: $65 \n NBCCD staff\, faculty\, and current students  receive 20% off regular ticket sales while supplies last. DESCRIPTION:HALF-DAY WORKSHOP – November 14\, 2026 | 1 pm – 4 pm \nExplore your creativity and the meditative qualities of painting with wool. Participants will learn about various kinds of wool and discover the magic of turning wool into art! Needle felting is a soothing and satisfying fiber art that uses barbed needles to sculpt wool into beautiful scenes and textures. In this workshop\, you’ll learn the basics of felting while creating your own wool “painting” of a scenic landscape — no experience needed! The instructor will provide samples and walk participants through the needle-felting process\, with step by step instructions to create your piece. After graduating from the New Brunswick College of Craft & Design in 2005\, she co-founded Legacy Lane Fiber Mill with her sister\, specializing in alpaca fibre and producing high-quality\, Canadian-made yarn and textiles. Over the years\, the mill expanded to include a full-service weaving studio\, custom dyeing\, and machine knitting. \nIn addition to production work\, Alyson runs a textile-focused retail space in downtown Sussex\, where she offers fibre arts workshops and supports creative collaborations.
