He moved to Fredericton\, NB\, where he completed a BA in fine arts at St. Thomas University\, a two-year diploma in Fine Craft: Ceramics at the New Brunswick College of Craft of Design (NBCCD)\, and a certificate in Advanced Studio Practice at NBCCD. \n Matt has worked as a gallery assistant at Gallery 78 in Fredericton\, NB\, as the ceramics centre coordinator at AX the Arts and Culture Centre of Sussex in Sussex\, NB\, was the board president of CraftNB for three years\, has participated in multiple artist residencies\, internships\, mentorships\, exhibitions\, and more. In this course\, you will learn how to draft patterns from your (or a friend’s) measurements\, alter them so they fit any body type perfectly\, and manipulate those patterns into designs. \nThe course begins with mastering the fundamentals of pattern drafting\, starting with drafting a precise bodice pattern. Through mock-ups and fittings\, you’ll refine your patterns to ensure a perfect fit for any body type. Kim works as a full-time potter out of her studio in Lincoln\, NB. After attending a workshop at NBCCD and lamenting that it was over way too quickly\, she began studying Ceramics in the Diploma program at NBCCD. She studied Fine Craft: Ceramics part-time at NBCCD until 2019\, when she set up her own studio at home. Currently she works in her studio creating wheel-thrown and handbuilt functional pieces that bring joy to her customers day to day\, and brings her peace in the work that she does. She studied Fine Craft: Ceramics part-time at NBCCD until 2019\, when she set up her own studio at home. Currently she works in her studio creating wheel-thrown and handbuilt functional pieces that bring joy to her customers day to day\, and brings her peace in the work that she does. In this seven-week course\, participants will first be introduced to the sewing machine—learning how to thread the machine\, wind a bobbin\, and sew straight and curved seams. We will also explore zig-zag stitching\, inserting a zipper\, various sewing finishing techniques such as French seams\, and adding a facing. Participants will then have the chance to make small projects together and create their own projects in the final classes. In 2011 she finished the technical course in Fashion Design in her hometown\, Curitiba. Since then\, she has been working in the fashion market and studying to improve her techniques. She decided to move to Canada to study in her area again\, and is now working towards an additional path in fashion. DESCRIPTION:SEVEN SESSIONS COURSE\, from 6 PM – 9 PM \nDates: Mondays to Thursdays\nJuly\, 8\,9\,10\,11\,15\,16\,17. \nIn this 7-session course\, Karen will take you through all the steps of weaving on a floor loom – from measuring your warp threads to cutting your first handwoven project off the loom! After recently retiring from a senior project manager position with an Indigenous non-profit organization\, Karen now gives back to the community through her artwork and time. Her pieces focus on several distinct streams: weaving traditional\, functional\, and practical pieces on four or eight-harness looms; innovative\, contemporary tapestry pieces woven on tapestry looms; and stitched pieces made from repurposed tartan kilts or other fabrics. Karen has exhibited her work around the world\, representing the craft of weaving internationally\, nationally\, regionally\, and locally. She moved to Canada as an exchange student and stayed to complete her diploma in Fashion Design from the New Brunswick College of Craft & Design (NBCCD).
