DESCRIPTION:FIVE WEEK COURSE\, Every Saturday from 10 am – 1 pm\nBeginner Pottery Course! \nDates: Saturday\n \nOctober 3\, 10\, 17\, 24\, 31 \nIn this 5-week course\, Brenda Parks will teach you the basics of clay\, get your hands dirty and get ready to create your own ceramic pots. Learn about the different pottery tools\, how to center on the wheel\, and work on finishing with trimming and glazing.  We will start with the basic cylinder\, from which you can make just about anything!  Join this course and learn the basics of wheel throwing and make your first pots on the pottery wheel. \nTICKET PRICING & MATERIAL COST:\nRegular ticket price: $235 \n NBCCD staff\, faculty\, and current students receive 20% off regular ticket sales while supplies last. Find the NBCCD Discount ticket below.  \nAdditional material fees: \nOn the first evening participants will be required to purchase the materials below Materials available in the College Store. \n\nHalf Box of Clay – Approx. $35\nBeginner tool set – Approx. $25\n#423 Aluminum Double loop – Approx. $12\n\nFAQ and refund information can be found at the bottom of this page. \nTHE INSTRUCTOR:\nBrenda found her love of working with clay over the past 20 years in evening classes in AB\, BC\, and NB\, while pursuing her career in policy and negotiations. After attending a workshop at NBCCD and lamenting that it was over way too quickly\, she began studying Ceramics in the Diploma program at NBCCD. She studied Fine Craft: Ceramics part-time at NBCCD until 2019\, when she set up her own studio at home. Currently she works in her studio creating wheel-thrown and handbuilt functional pieces that bring joy to her customers day to day\, and brings her peace in the work that she does. She supplies retail stores\, galleries\, and attends craft shows\, when she is not busy running her two middle-schoolers to their various activities\, gardening\, and creating home-cooked meals for her family. \nLearn more about what we do at Honeybee Folk School and what courses we have coming up!
