DESCRIPTION:ONE-DAY WORKSHOP – May 2 \, 2026 | 9 am – 4 pm\nIn this one-day workshop\, participants will be introduced to some of the basics of jewellery making. The class will focus on different metal texturing techniques using various hammers and stamps. Participants will also learn how to saw\, sand\, file\, drill\, and polish metal. Inspired by the nature she sees around her\, Marianna’s work involves exploring many different textures and finishes. Her curiosity about the world of metal has led her to explore many different techniques which she employs in her work and practice. DESCRIPTION:2-DAY WORKSHOP – July 4 & 5\, 2026 | 9 am – 4 pm\nLearn to piece together a quilt block by hand and explore historic and modern embroidery techniques to create a richly embellished crazy quilt. Your finished piece can be displayed as a wall hanging\, pillow cover\, or framed artwork. No sewing experience is needed\, but good hand-eye coordination is helpful. \nOn day one\, you’ll arrange fabrics\, piece your quilt block and begin embellishing with ribbons\, lace\, and trims. She moved to Canada as an exchange student and stayed to complete her diploma in Fashion Design from the New Brunswick College of Craft & Design (NBCCD). She spent 3 years in England making theater costumes for a living. Enamel is glass in a powder form that is dusted and baked onto the surface of metal via kiln firing (exposure to 1500 degrees fahrenheit for 2 minutes) or torch firing (exposure to indirect flame for 30 seconds). Participants will come to understand the medium of metal by learning basic techniques like sawing\, sanding\, filing\, and drilling metal.  \nThey will also learn some ways to manipulate metal into different shapes and explore textures. Basic enameling techniques and both firing processes will then be taught\, allowing participants to bring their ideas to life.
