Crazy Quilting – Cat Candow

May 17 @ 9:00 am - May 18 @ 4:00 pm

$164.00 – $169.00
a quilted piece with various pieces of colorful fabrics, embroidered with beads

2-DAY WORKSHOP – May 17 & 18, 2025 | 9 am – 4 pm

Learn to piece together a quilt block by hand and explore historic and modern embroidery techniques to create a richly embellished crazy quilt. Your finished piece can be displayed as a wall hanging, pillow cover, or framed artwork. No sewing experience is needed, but good hand-eye coordination is helpful.

On day one, you’ll arrange fabrics, piece your quilt block and begin embellishing with ribbons, lace, and trims. Day two focuses on embroidery stitches, followed by beads, sequins, and final decorative touches to complete your design.

TICKET PRICING & MATERIAL COST:

Regular ticket price (March 26, 12 pm): $205 + taxes (HST)

THE INSTRUCTOR:

Raised in Germany under her grandmother’s sewing table, Cat took her first stitches around age 3, attempting to make pants for her Teddy. She learned to crochet and cross stitch around the same time as learning to read and write but with much more enthusiasm. She moved to Canada as an exchange student and stayed to complete her diploma in Fashion Design from the New Brunswick College of Craft & Design (NBCCD). After spending 3 years in England making theater costumes, Cat returned to Canada and has been sewing, teaching, and making art ever since.
