Whether you're interested in half-day workshops or multi-week courses, there's something for everyone! Located in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada, we offer hands-on experiences in a variety of subjects, all taught in either the beautiful studios at the New Brunswick College of Craft & Design (NBCCD) or one of our partnering locations.

Felted Fungi – Elise Campbell

1.5 -DAY WORKSHOP –May 24 & 25, 2025 | 9 am – 4 pm and 9 am – 12 pm

Take your sculptural needle felting to the next level with this 3D mushroom workshop. Participants will refine and develop their felting practice by learning how to work with density to sculpt wool. Elise will discuss preferred wool breeds and preparation for needle felting, as well as the various needle shapes, sizes, and felting surfaces. Learn how to create refined forms and various ways to finish and elevate your piece. Students will blend colours to create realistic, 100% wool mushrooms.

This workshop is ideal for those who have some needle felting experience and want to upgrade their skills and presentation.

TICKET PRICING & MATERIAL COST:

Regular ticket price (March 21, 12 pm): $149 + taxes (HST)

Material fee: $25 to be paid to the instructor on the day of the workshop.

THE INSTRUCTOR:

Elise Campbell is a fibre artist and educator with a passion for sharing the wonders of felting and textile arts. Her teaching experience spans from private instruction to collaborations with organizations like Craft Nova Scotia, NSCAD Extended Studies, Girl Guides of Canada, the PEI Fibre Festival, Woolstock East, Visual Arts Nova Scotia, and Chester Art Centre. Recent projects included teaching at the Made In Canada Sustainable Fibre Arts Conference in Gros Morne, NL, and the Olympic Peninsula Fungi Festival, WA. Her work has been exhibited internationally at Collect Art Fair in London, and she has earned grants from various organizations to support international study and creative projects. FAQ

Refunds

If a request for a refund is submitted at least 14 days before the course begins, you will be eligible for a 94% refund. A 6% deduction will cover the administration costs and stripe service fee. For refund requests made between 8 and 13 days before the course begins, a 75% refund will be granted. If a refund request is received within 7 days or less before the course start date, a refund will not be issued unless we can fill your spot with another participant. In the event that a participant cannot attend an in-person course due to illness, they can receive a Honeybee voucher for 75% of the value of their course that can be paid towards another class in the future. The participant will need to notify the Honeybee Coordinator before the course begins.

Cancellations

If a workshop is cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances regarding the instructor facilities or low enrolment, a 100% refund will be granted to registered participants. If class is cancelled due to weather, the course will be moved to the following weekend (unless otherwise specified). If you cannot attend the new scheduled time, you will be granted a 100% refund.
