Gather together with makers of all levels to learn new skills and celebrate traditional crafts and regenerative living. Whether you're interested in half-day workshops or multi-week courses, there's something for everyone! Located in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada, we offer hands-on experiences in a variety of subjects, all taught in either the beautiful studios at the New Brunswick College of Craft & Design (NBCCD) or one of our partnering locations.
Intro to Ceramics – Kim Benoit

SEVEN-SESSIONS COURSE, Every Monday and Wednesday from 6 PM – 9 PM
Dates: June 2, 4, 9, 11, 16, 18, 25 – 2025
In this 7-week course, participants will be guided through the basic fundamentals of wheel thrown pottery. They will experience hands-on and will create pieces that will be fired and glazed. Learn about the different pottery tools, how to center on the wheel, and work on finishing with trimming and glazing. We will start with the basic cylinder, from which you can make just about anything! Join this course and learn the basics of wheel throwing and make your first pots on the pottery wheel..

Additional material fees:
On the first evening participants will be required to purchase the materials below Materials available in the College Store.

- #423 Aluminum Double loop – Approx. $12
Additional glazing fee: The final session is designated for waxing and glazing. If you are unable to attend on that day, the instructor will finish your pieces for an additional fee of $5 per piece.

THE INSTRUCTOR:
Kim discovered her passion for pottery in 2013 through a workshop at NBCCD. Over the next eight years, she honed her skills under the mentorship of four experienced potters, deepening her connection to the craft. Her dedication eventually led her to leave a career in healthcare to pursue ceramics full-time, enrolling at NBCCD to further develop her skills and refine her unique style.
Now working from her studio in Lincoln, NB, Kim creates thoughtfully crafted, functional pieces that are available in maritime markets and gift stores. To see her latest creations, follow her on Instagram @ArtnWarebyKim.

FAQ
Refunds
If a request for a refund is submitted at least 14 days before the course begins, you will be eligible for a 94% refund. A 6% deduction will cover the administration costs and stripe service fee. For refund requests made between 8 and 13 days before the course begins, a 75% refund will be granted. If a refund request is received within 7 days or less before the course start date, a refund will not be issued unless we can fill your spot with another participant. In the event that a participant cannot attend an in-person course due to illness, they can receive a Honeybee voucher for 75% of the value of their course that can be paid towards another class in the future. The participant will need to notify the Honeybee Coordinator before the course begins.
Cancellations
If a workshop is cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances regarding the instructor facilities or low enrolment, a 100% refund will be granted to registered participants. If class is cancelled due to weather, the course will be moved to the following weekend (unless otherwise specified). If you cannot attend the new scheduled time, you will be granted a 100% refund.
