Gather together with makers of all levels to learn new skills and celebrate traditional crafts and regenerative living. Whether you're interested in half-day workshops or multi-week courses, there's something for everyone! Located in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada, we offer hands-on experiences in a variety of subjects, all taught in either the beautiful studios at the New Brunswick College of Craft & Design (NBCCD) or one of our partnering locations.
Pysanka | Ukrainian Easter Egg Technique – Iryna
ONE-DAY WORKSHOP – March 1, 2026 | 9 am – 4 pm
Participants will discover the beauty behind the traditional Ukrainian art of Easter eggs – Pysanka, with wax-resist method and dyes. Participants will learn the step-by-step process of creating Pysanky using traditional tools and beeswax, and will have the opportunity to design and complete several of their own unique Easter eggs to take home. This hands-on workshop will introduce various regional patterns and motifs, each carrying its own meaning and history.

Additional material fee: $15 to be paid to the instructor on the day of the workshop.

THE INSTRUCTOR:
Eereen is a visual artist specializing in traditional Ukrainian folk art styles, one of them is Pysanka (wax-resist egg art). The artist preserves the traditions and core principles of these style while blending them with contemporary ideas, objects and aesthetics. Trained in design and fine arts, she combines techniques such as Petrykivka painting style and Vytynanka (papercutting style) to reinterpret folk motifs for modern audiences. She regularly participates in exhibitions, teaches workshops introducing participants to the art of Pysanka.

FAQ
Refunds
If a request for a refund is submitted at least 14 days before the course begins, you will be eligible for a 94% refund. A 6% deduction will cover the administration costs and stripe service fee. For refund requests made between 8 and 13 days before the course begins, a 75% refund will be granted. If a refund request is received within 7 days or less before the course start date, a refund will not be issued unless we can fill your spot with another participant. In the event that a participant cannot attend an in-person course due to illness, they can receive a Honeybee voucher for 75% of the value of their course that can be paid towards another class in the future. The participant will need to notify the Honeybee Coordinator before the course begins.
Cancellations
If a workshop is cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances regarding the instructor facilities or low enrolment, a 100% refund will be granted to registered participants. If class is cancelled due to weather, the course will be moved to the following weekend (unless otherwise specified). If you cannot attend the new scheduled time, you will be granted a 100% refund.
