Gather together with makers of all levels to learn new skills and celebrate traditional crafts and regenerative living. Whether you're interested in half-day workshops or multi-week courses, there's something for everyone! Located in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada, we offer hands-on experiences in a variety of subjects, all taught in either the beautiful studios at the New Brunswick College of Craft & Design (NBCCD) or one of our partnering locations.

Beginner Pottery Class!

February 13, 20, 27, March 5, 12, 19, 26 – 2024
Whether you’ve barely dabbled with a pottery wheel, or just thought about it, this seven week course is for you! From the talented Sara Griffin, you will learn the basics of clay and finally get your hands dirty to create your own ceramic pots and mugs. Learn about the different pottery tools, how to center on the wheel, then work on finishing with trimming and glazing. During this course, you will start with the basic cylinder, before expanding your abilities to shape it into almost anything! Sign up for this beginner pottery class and learn the basics of wheel throwing and make your first creations on the pottery wheel.

THE INSTRUCTOR:
Sara Griffin holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from NSCAD University, a Bachelor of Education from UNB, and a Diploma of Ceramics from New Brunswick College of Craft and Design. Highlights of her career include residencies in Italy carving marble, printing lithographs at Malaspina’s Printmaker’s Society in Vancouver, BC, and teaching English in Japan. Sara has exhibited internationally and has curated exhibitions and learning programmes in Eastern Canada. Griffin is an active arts advocate and served as the former Executive Director of ArtsLink NB. She now works as a full-time artist and owns Griffin Works Studio in Fredericton, NB.

FAQ
Refunds
If a request for a refund is submitted at least 14 days before the course begins, you will be eligible for a 94% refund. A 6% deduction will cover the administration costs and stripe service fee. For refund requests made between 8 and 13 days before the course begins, a 75% refund will be granted. If a refund request is received within 7 days or less before the course start date, a refund will not be issued unless we can fill your spot with another participant. In the event that a participant cannot attend an in-person course due to illness, they can receive a Honeybee voucher for 75% of the value of their course that can be paid towards another class in the future. The participant will need to notify the Honeybee Coordinator before the course begins.
Cancellations
If a workshop is cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances regarding the instructor facilities or low enrolment, a 100% refund will be granted to registered participants. If class is cancelled due to weather, the course will be moved to the following weekend (unless otherwise specified). If you cannot attend the new scheduled time, you will be granted a 100% refund.
