Gather together with makers of all levels to learn new skills and celebrate traditional crafts and regenerative living. Whether you're interested in half-day workshops or multi-week courses, there's something for everyone! Located in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada, we offer hands-on experiences in a variety of subjects, all taught in either the beautiful studios at the New Brunswick College of Craft & Design (NBCCD) or one of our partnering locations.
FULL – Felted Landscapes – Margaret Anne Smith

Explore your creativity and the beauty of winter landscapes: make a clear blue sky and sunshine or try a night sky and northern lights, and add moon and stars. Put a holiday tree in the field, or even add sheep or children tobagganing! Participants will learn about various kinds of wool and see how they work in this ancient craft of felt-making. Participants will explore two felting techniques (wet-felting and dry or needle-felting), play with colours and textures, and create a wall hanging to take home. The instructor will provide samples and photos for inspiration and walk participants through the wet-felting and needle-felting processes. At the end of the workshop participants will be given options for framing or ideas for displaying the finished work.

Additional material fee: $45 to be paid to the instructor on the day of the workshop.
Additional instructions: Participants should bring two old towels, a pool noodle and a spray bottle. The instructor will have a few extras on hand, if participants are unable to source all these items.

THE INSTRUCTOR:
Margaret Anne Smith is a teacher, poet, and fibre artist who lives in Saint John. Fascinated by the interplay of colour and texture, she uses wet felting, dry (needle) felting, and hand-stitching to make garments, wall hangings, and small figures. She draws inspiration from living near the shores of the Bay of Fundy and loves to share her passion by selling at markets, making commissioned works, and facilitating workshops

Refunds
If a request for a refund is submitted at least 14 days before the course begins, you will be eligible for a 94% refund. A 6% deduction will cover the administration costs and stripe service fee. For refund requests made between 8 and 13 days before the course begins, a 75% refund will be granted. If a refund request is received within 7 days or less before the course start date, a refund will not be issued unless we can fill your spot with another participant. In the event that a participant cannot attend an in-person course due to illness, they can receive a Honeybee voucher for 75% of the value of their course that can be paid towards another class in the future. The participant will need to notify the Honeybee Coordinator before the course begins.
Cancellations
If a workshop is cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances regarding the instructor facilities or low enrolment, a 100% refund will be granted to registered participants. If class is cancelled due to weather, the course will be moved to the following weekend (unless otherwise specified). If you cannot attend the new scheduled time, you will be granted a 100% refund.
