Advanced Jewellery Making| Primitive Casting – Mackenzie Russell

July 22 @ 9:00 am - July 26 @ 4:00 pm

$316.00 – $395.00

July 22 to 26, 2024 | 9 am – 4 pm

5-DAY COURSE, Monday to Friday

In our well-equipped studio, participants will safely experiment with a variety of primitive casting techniques such as salt casting, water casting, cuttlefish bone casting, etc., to create unique pieces of jewellery. Students should already have an understanding of essential benchwork techniques like soldering, sawing, piercing, filing, sanding, and polishing. Because of the uniqueness of the objects created, participants will need an understanding of jewellery design to bring their projects to life.

THE INSTRUCTOR:

As the Jewellery/Metal Arts Studio technician for NBCCD, Mackenzie keeps things rolling. He orders materials, organizes the studio, and maintains its operations. An armchair philosopher and aspiring alchemist, Mackenzie is inspired by liberal pursuits and the possibility of interpreting conceptual ideas into a visual piece of art.
