Gather together with makers of all levels to learn new skills and celebrate traditional crafts and regenerative living. Whether you're interested in half-day workshops or multi-week courses, there's something for everyone! Located in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada, we offer hands-on experiences in a variety of subjects, all taught in either the beautiful studios at the New Brunswick College of Craft & Design (NBCCD) or one of our partnering locations.
Learn to Weave on a Frame Loom – Karen LeBlanc

Learn to weave on a frame loom! Create a woven, framed masterpiece using colours and textures while gaining an understanding of basic weave structures. Your unique woven artwork will be created with yarn, roving, string, fibre, raffia, feathers, and other found items (dried flowers, twigs, paper, etc).
The frames may be painted upon completion if there is time, or participants can paint the frames at home. Karen will provide detailed instructions on how to paint a frame that has been woven.

Regular ticket price (December 11, 12 pm): $65 + taxes (HST)

Additional material fee: $10 to be paid to the instructor on the day of the workshop.

THE INSTRUCTOR:
Karen LeBlanc has been weaving for over 40 years and recently retired from a senior project manager position with an Indigenous non-profit organization. She focuses on several distinct streams: weaving traditional, functional, and practical pieces on four or eight-harness looms; innovative, contemporary tapestry pieces woven on tapestry looms; and stitched pieces made from repurposed tartan kilts or other fabrics. Karen has exhibited internationally, nationally, regionally, and locally and participated in residencies in Fredericton, Toronto, and Parrsboro.

Refunds
If a request for a refund is submitted at least 14 days before the course begins, you will be eligible for a 94% refund. A 6% deduction will cover the administration costs and stripe service fee. For refund requests made between 8 and 13 days before the course begins, a 75% refund will be granted. If a refund request is received within 7 days or less before the course start date, a refund will not be issued unless we can fill your spot with another participant. In the event that a participant cannot attend an in-person course due to illness, they can receive a Honeybee voucher for 75% of the value of their course that can be paid towards another class in the future. The participant will need to notify the Honeybee Coordinator before the course begins.
Cancellations
If a workshop is cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances regarding the instructor facilities or low enrolment, a 100% refund will be granted to registered participants. If class is cancelled due to weather, the course will be moved to the following weekend (unless otherwise specified). If you cannot attend the new scheduled time, you will be granted a 100% refund.
