Located in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada, we offer hands-on experiences in a variety of subjects, all taught in either the beautiful studios at the New Brunswick College of Craft & Design (NBCCD) or one of our partnering locations.

Textured Jewellery Workshop – Marianna Lewis

ONE-DAY WORKSHOP – February 8 , 2025 | 9 am – 4 pm

In this one-day workshop, participants will be introduced to some of the basics of jewellery making. The class will focus on different metal texturing techniques ranging from hammering techniques to roller-printed textures. Participants will also learn how to saw, anneal, polish, sand, file, and drill metal. With these techniques, participants will create a set of textured silver jewellery (a pair of earrings and a pendant) of their very own design to take home.

TICKET PRICING & MATERIAL COST:

Regular ticket price (December 11, 12 pm): $119 + taxes (HST)

Additional Material fee: $50+ Participants must purchase a material kit from the College Store before the class. Prices may vary, depending on the thickness and size of the sterling silver.

Additional instructions: Please wear short-sleeved shirts, full leg coverage (pants/long skirt), no dangling jewellery, long hair tied back or covered, closed-toe shoes, and safety glasses if they prefer their own (if not, they will be provided). Bring a notebook/ sketchbook to take notes.

THE INSTRUCTOR:

Marianna Lewis is a dedicated and engaging metalsmith with a passion for teaching creative arts across a variety of media. She has led numerous paper-craft workshops, guiding participants of all ages—children, teens, and adults—in making intricate pop-up cards. Recently, Marianna demonstrated her expertise in metal stamping at the George Fry Gallery Hop and conducted a hands-on metal stamping workshop during the NBCCD Open House for prospective students. Known for her strong organizational skills, Marianna ensures that her classes run smoothly and on time, while her outgoing personality and excellent interpersonal skills help students feel encouraged and engaged, making the learning experience enjoyable for everyone.

FAQ

Refunds

If a request for a refund is submitted at least 14 days before the course begins, you will be eligible for a 94% refund. A 6% deduction will cover the administration costs and stripe service fee. For refund requests made between 8 and 13 days before the course begins, a 75% refund will be granted. If a refund request is received within 7 days or less before the course start date, a refund will not be issued unless we can fill your spot with another participant. In the event that a participant cannot attend an in-person course due to illness, they can receive a Honeybee voucher for 75% of the value of their course that can be paid towards another class in the future. The participant will need to notify the Honeybee Coordinator before the course begins.

Cancellations

If a workshop is cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances regarding the instructor facilities or low enrolment, a 100% refund will be granted to registered participants. If class is cancelled due to weather, the course will be moved to the following weekend (unless otherwise specified). If you cannot attend the new scheduled time, you will be granted a 100% refund.
