Gather together with makers of all levels to learn new skills and celebrate traditional crafts and regenerative living. Whether you're interested in half-day workshops or multi-week courses, there's something for everyone! Located in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada, we offer hands-on experiences in a variety of subjects, all taught in either the beautiful studios at the New Brunswick College of Craft & Design (NBCCD) or one of our partnering locations.

ONE-DAY WORKSHOP – January 20, 2024 | 9 am – 4 pm.

Whether you are a complete novice or have dabbled in the art of bookmaking, this workshop welcomes all with open arms. The instructor will guide you through the process. Throughout the workshop, you will have the opportunity to work with a wide array of quality tools and materials carefully curated to ignite your creativity. You’ll explore the secrets of different binding techniques, and by the end of the session, you’ll hold in your hands a handcrafted journal that reflects your unique style and personality.

TICKET PRICING & MATERIAL COST:

Regular ticket price (December 1, 12pm – January 12, 11:30pm): $119

NBCCD staff, faculty, and current students receive 20% off regular ticket sales while supplies last. Find the NBCCD Discount ticket below.

Additional material fee: $30 paid to the instructor on the day of the workshop. Please bring pencils and scissors with you.

THE INSTRUCTOR:

Jackraken (Meg) is a lifelong artist from New Brunswick, who refined her skills at NSCAD. She has put her hand into multiple mediums: illustration, painting, bookbinding, and animation. Meg works as a graphic designer by day but finds time to make art and sell her handbound books at local galleries.

FAQ

Refunds

If a request for a refund is submitted at least 14 days before the course begins, you will be eligible for a 94% refund. A 6% deduction will cover the administration costs and stripe service fee. For refund requests made between 8 and 13 days before the course begins, a 75% refund will be granted. If a refund request is received within 7 days or less before the course start date, a refund will not be issued unless we can fill your spot with another participant. In the event that a participant cannot attend an in-person course due to illness, they can receive a Honeybee voucher for 75% of the value of their course that can be paid towards another class in the future. The participant will need to notify the Honeybee Coordinator before the course begins.

Cancellations

If a workshop is cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances regarding the instructor facilities or low enrolment, a 100% refund will be granted to registered participants. If class is cancelled due to weather, the course will be moved to the following weekend (unless otherwise specified). If you cannot attend the new scheduled time, you will be granted a 100% refund.
